New Case Study - Adapt or Die: How EuroCycle Is Scaling Online 50-State Sales With Ekho
COMPARISON AI Sales Agent

Ekho AI Sales Agent vs Conversica

Conversica has been working dealership leads to an appointment longer than almost anyone. Ekho works them too, and can carry a ready buyer through to a finished sale.

Conversica is the incumbent in this category and the comparison should start by saying so. Their automotive agents "have human-like conversations at scale - engaging your leads 24/7 to drive showroom traffic and fill service bays", running across email, SMS and chat, in multiple languages, with named integrations into DealerSocket, CDK and VinSolutions alongside CRM, calendar and DMS systems. They schedule test drives and service appointments around the clock, qualify financing needs and trade-in details early, cover the service lane as well as sales, and claim "1,000+ Dealer Teams" from single stores up to an eighty-store group. That is a long track record on the exact job of persistent lead follow-up, and on a franchise store that wants email worked hard it is a reasonable buy. Where Ekho differs is depth in the conversation and what happens at the end of it. Our agent answers on your website and over text in under five seconds from your live inventory and your own uploaded documents, runs soft-pull pre-qualification against real lenders in the thread with a credit floor you set rather than qualifying financing needs in conversation, and where you switch it on carries a ready buyer through signing, taxes, fees, titling and registration in all 50 states. Conversica gets the lead to your showroom; we can get the deal to done. On channels they are ahead of us on email, and on languages they and we both claim coverage, though only we name ours. Outside franchise automotive, Conversica describes no powersports, marine, RV or LSV coverage, which is where Ekho was built.

SIDE BY SIDE

Ekho AI Sales Agent and Conversica (Automotive AI Agents), capability by capability

Capability Ekho AI Sales Agent Conversica (Automotive AI Agents) Stronger
What the product is for Answering the buyer, and optionally finishing the deal Working leads to a booked appointment at scale, across sales and the service lane Comparable
Channels the AI speaks on Website chat and text, held as one continuous thread, with email and AI phone calls in development Email, SMS and chat. Email is a channel we do not have Conversica

Persistent follow-up Runs as long as you want with no fixed cut-off, and stops the moment a buyer asks not to be contacted again. Answering from live inventory Names the actual unit, the actual price and real availability from your live feed, and answers questions about it Not described on their site. Their agents engage and qualify the lead rather than selling from a live feed Ekho
"Can I get approved?" Soft-pull pre-qualification in the thread against real lenders, with a credit range you set deciding who gets an approval and who goes to a finance manager The agent qualifies financing needs early and routes to your finance team. A soft credit pull run by the agent is not described Ekho
"What's the monthly on this?" Surfaces a pre-qualification CTA when payments or financing come up, and the approval range comes back in the thread. The agent does not quote a monthly on the unit; the payment is built in checkout Not described on their site Comparable
Trade-in valuation In development. The agent can book a trade-in appraisal, but not return a number The agent gathers trade-in details as part of qualifying. No instant valuation is described Comparable

The service lane Not offered. Ekho does not sell into fixed ops Service inquiries, maintenance and recall scheduling are a described part of the product Conversica
A group of several rooftops One parent account with an agent per store, group defaults each rooftop inherits, cross-location routing, and one place to see every lead Sold from single locations up to an eighty-store group, by their own account Comparable
Manufacturer-level deployment A brand-scoped agent on a manufacturer's own site that hands each buyer to the nearest authorised dealer, whose agent picks the conversation up Not described on their site Ekho
Vehicle segments Automotive, new and used, plus powersports, golf carts and LSVs, marine and RV, with the integrations and titling work each one needs Positioned for automotive, alongside other industries they serve. No non-automotive vehicle segment is described Ekho
Tenure and installed base Newer, and growing fast. Three manufacturers deploy Ekho across their dealer networks, and stores run it across automotive, powersports, marine, RV, golf carts and LSVs. "1,000+ Dealer Teams" and, in their words, "Powering Millions of Conversations", built up over far longer than we have existed Conversica

WHERE WE WIN

Where Ekho is stronger

  • It sells from the unit, not just the lead

A shopper asking whether the blue one is still there and what it costs out the door gets an answer from your live inventory and your own uploaded documents. An agent built to qualify and route answers that by getting your team into the conversation.

  • The approval question gets answered, not queued

"Can I get approved?" is the moment a buyer goes quiet. Ekho runs soft-pull pre-qualification against real lenders in the thread, with a credit range you set deciding who gets an approval and who goes to a finance manager. Qualifying a financing need and returning an approval range are different things.

  • The deal can actually finish

Signing, taxes and fees, titling and registration in all 50 states sit under the same conversation, so a ready buyer is not handed off at the appointment. It is a switch per rooftop and it is off until you turn it on, so you can run Ekho purely as an appointment-setter and turn the rest on later without changing tools.

  • It is your agent, not ours

The name, the personality, what it is allowed to do, the greeting on your site and the documents it answers from are set by you, per rooftop, from the Admin Portal. Changes go live without a release, which is the difference between an agent that stays accurate and one that slowly stops matching your store.

  • Nobody hears two voices

The moment a rep replies, the agent stands down across every conversation that lead has, and your team switches automation back on when they are done. An item nobody touches escalates on a timer instead of going cold.

  • One platform, whatever is on your lot

The same agent, checkout and 50-state compliance run across cars, powersports, marine, RV, golf carts and LSVs, with the titling work each one involves. Conversica is positioned for automotive among several industries, and describes no non-automotive vehicle segments.

BY WHAT YOU SELL

Segment by segment, and how deep it goes

The same product across every kind of titled vehicle. This is what else you will run into in each segment, what runs the back office there, and what is specific about selling that vehicle type.

Segment What else you will see Systems Ekho connects to What is segment-specific
Automotive The most crowded segment, and the one Conversica has served longest Two-way sync with the dealer CRMs we support, ADF lead delivery into any CRM without a direct integration, and inventory over your existing feed They are ahead on email, tenure, named integrations and the service lane. We are ahead on selling from live inventory, pre-qualification in the thread, dealer-owned configuration and the option to finish the sale. On a store that lives on email follow-up, take them seriously.
Powersports Texting widgets, lead-generation tools, and automotive AI agents stretched to fit Two-way sync with the DMS and CRM platforms powersports stores actually run, and scheduled inventory feeds where there is no direct connection Multi-line stores carry brands with different rules, and the agent is scoped per rooftop to only the brands you are authorised on. Unit-level titling and registration is handled rather than handed back to you.
Golf cart and LSV Thin, and mostly automotive products adapted after the fact Inventory over an existing XML or CSV feed where there is no DMS to integrate with, which is most of this segment LSVs are titled vehicles with state-by-state rules a generic automotive product has no concept of. Street-legal configuration and the paperwork that follows are part of the sale.
Marine Thin, and mostly automotive products adapted after the fact Feed-based inventory sync, plus the CRMs marine dealers already run Boat, motor and trailer are three items on one deal, and the trailer is the part that needs a title. A product built for one VIN per sale does not model this.
RV Thin, and mostly automotive products adapted after the fact Feed-based inventory sync, plus the CRMs RV dealers already run Long consideration windows on high-ticket units, where follow-up with no fixed cut-off matters, and where financing terms differ enough from automotive that a generic pre-qualification is worse than none.

HOW TO EVALUATE

4 questions that settle it in ten minutes

Put these to any AI sales agent you are evaluating, including ours. The answers tell you more than any comparison table, including this one.

  1. 01

"Is this exact unit still available, and what is the out-the-door price?"

Tests two things at once: whether the agent reads your live inventory, and whether it can add up fees and tax rather than routing the buyer to a person.

  2. 02

"Can I see if I would get approved without hurting my credit?"

Either the agent runs a soft pull and comes back with a range, or it notes the buyer needs financing and passes them on. Both are useful; they are not the same thing.

  3. 03

    "Which languages, exactly?"

Both products claim multilingual coverage and only one of us names the list. Ask for the specific language your buyers speak, and ask to see a full conversation in it.

  4. 04

"What happens after the buyer says yes?"

Both will book the appointment. Ask each what a ready buyer can do without waiting for a person, and on which rooftops.

IN DEVELOPMENT

What we have not shipped yet

  • Email In development

Conversica works email as a first-class channel and has done longer than almost anyone. Ekho's agent answers on web chat and over text today, and email is being built. If email is where your leads actually reply, that is a real gap right now and we would rather you heard it here.

  • The service lane Not on the roadmap

Conversica handles service inquiries, maintenance and recall scheduling. Ekho does not sell into fixed ops at all. If the problem you are solving is the service drive, we are the wrong tool.

  • Named CRM and DMS integrations Partial

They name DealerSocket, CDK and VinSolutions on their site. Our published list is shorter and weighted to the platforms powersports, marine and RV stores run. Where we have no direct integration your leads still arrive by ADF, but that is not the same as a two-way sync, so ask us about your CRM by name.

  • Tenure Not something we can fix

Conversica has been running AI agents against dealership leads for far longer than Ekho has existed, with a correspondingly larger body of conversations behind it. If length of track record is what you are buying, that is theirs and not ours.

WHICH TO CHOOSE

It depends on what you sell and where the deal ends

  1. A store whose leads only ever reply to email

    Conversica

Email is what they have done longest and done well. Ekho's email channel is in development, so until it ships they reach a channel we do not. This is the clearest reason on the page to pick them.

  2. A dealer whose problem is the service drive

    Conversica

Service inquiries, maintenance and recall scheduling are part of their product. Ekho does not sell into fixed ops at all.

  3. A dealer buying on track record

    Conversica

They have been running agents against dealership leads far longer than we have existed, across 1,000+ dealer teams. If length of proof is the thing you are buying, it is theirs.

  4. A dealer who wants the agent to sell, not just qualify

    Ekho

Our agent answers from your live inventory by name and price and returns a soft-pull approval range in the thread. Theirs engages the lead and routes it to your sales and finance teams.

  5. A dealer who wants ready buyers to be able to finish online

    Ekho

Driving showroom traffic is still a handoff. If you want the option of a buyer pre-qualifying, signing and paying, the agent has to sit on a checkout that can legally complete the sale in your state. You still choose which rooftops that is on.

  6. A store with a large non-English-speaking customer base

Either, and ask for the list

Both products claim multiple languages. We name 25 and let the buyer switch from a pill in the widget; they do not publish theirs. Ask both to show you a full conversation in the language your buyers actually speak.

  7. A powersports, marine, RV, golf cart or LSV dealer

    Ekho

Conversica is positioned for automotive among several industries and describes no non-automotive vehicle segments. Ekho was built in these and handles the titling, registration and tax work they involve.

COMPARISON

Frequently Asked Questions

The same category, at different depths. Both put an autonomous agent on your leads so none go cold. Conversica reaches email and has done it longer; Ekho sells from your live inventory, returns a soft-pull approval in the thread, and can optionally complete the purchase. Both will book you an appointment.

Track record, email and breadth. They have run AI agents against dealership leads longer than we have existed, across 1,000+ dealer teams, they work email as a first-class channel, they name DealerSocket, CDK and VinSolutions, and they cover the service lane. On a store that lives on email follow-up, they are a reasonable choice and we would say so on a call.

Not today. It answers on your website and over text, and email and AI phone calls are in development. Conversica works email, SMS and chat. If email is the requirement right now, that is a genuine advantage for them and we would rather say so than have you find out later.

Not yet. Trade-in valuation in the conversation is in development. The agent can book a trade-in appraisal, and pre-qualification and the full checkout are live today. Conversica gathers trade details while qualifying but does not describe an instant valuation either, so ask both.

We name ours: 25 languages you turn on per website, with the agent detecting the buyer's language on their first message and holding it for the whole conversation, and a pill the buyer can use to switch. Conversica says multiple languages without publishing a list. Ask both for the specific language you need and to see a full conversation in it.

Neither publishes a price. Ekho is priced per rooftop and quoted on a call, because what you need depends on which products you turn on. Get a quote from both.
