Charged Cycle Works has partnered with Ekho to bring true end-to-end e-moto commerce online. By integrating Ekho’s purpose-built platform, the dealership can sell VIN’d vehicles nationwide with built-in compliance, financing, and digital checkout, delivering a faster, more transparent buying experience while scaling growth without added headcount.

Charged Cycle Works, one of the country’s largest e-moto dealers and a longtime pioneer in the fast-growing category, and Ekho, the “Shopify for dealerships” backed by Activant, JPMorgan, and Winnebago, today announced a partnership to bring end-to-end e-moto commerce online and help more riders seamlessly discover, finance, and compliantly purchase their vehicles.

Ekho enables dealerships to sell VIN’d vehicles, PG&A, and F&I nationwide online through a single integrated digital storefront, with built-in SEO and AI-engine optimization that improves inventory discovery and helps shoppers find the right unit faster. When implemented across a dealership, Ekho enables unit sales, financing, accessory purchasing, insurance verification, signature collection, KYC, interstate tax remittance, titling, and registration to be completed online in minutes with a smoother end-to-end buying experience while preserving the dealer’s existing sales processes, margins, and brand.

Charged Cycle Works has long sold PG&A online through Shopify, but VIN’d vehicle sales are a different kind of transaction. Shopify is not designed for motor vehicle purchases, which often involve complex financing and compliance requirements. After evaluating the market and finding that legacy vehicle e-commerce tools fall short of modern commerce expectations, the team chose Ekho as the only platform that pairs a Shopify-level storefront with true end-to-end VIN’d vehicle purchasing.

What makes Ekho different

Lightweight electric dirt bikes and motorcycles have been a regulatory “wild west,” with inconsistent state-by-state classification driving confusion around titling and registration. That is changing quickly as regulators clamp down on dealerships, distributors, and manufacturers, often requiring vehicles to be titled and registered even for off-road use. Frameworks like California’s red and green sticker system, along with tighter enforcement of CARB and EPA rules, VIN and WMI usage, and documented vehicle identifiers, are raising the bar. Parts of the e-bike market are moving the same way, as states such as New York and New Jersey advance rules that treat higher-powered e-bikes more like motor vehicles, including requirements tied to licensure, titling, and registration.

Ekho helps dealers operate in this new reality by combining purpose-built commerce with compliance workflows that actually execute. Ekho brings experienced counsel and an operational system that supports state-by-state requirements, so dealers can sell nationwide with confidence even in categories where consistent infrastructure has not historically existed.

“E-moto demand is growing at lightning speed, and riders increasingly expect a buying experience that is as modern as the vehicles themselves. Our partnership with Ekho reflects a broader shift in e-moto retail toward true omni-channel vehicle commerce. Together, we will make it easier for customers to discover the right bike, secure financing, and complete the paperwork from anywhere, even when the store is physically closed, so they can get riding sooner. And as regulators increase scrutiny on both these bikes and the dealers selling them, it is more important than ever that titling, registration, and compliance are handled correctly without slowing the customer down.”

Charged Cycle Works is integrating Ekho into its digital retail stack to power all of its VIN’d vehicle sales. Ekho will be rolled out across all of Charged Cycle Works’ street-legal and dirt bike inventory (including E Ride Pro, Surron, Stark, Zero, and more). The partnership will help Charged Cycle Works to grow the dealership without growing headcount — by reducing purchase friction, expanding their market coverage, guaranteeing nationwide motor vehicle sale compliance, and giving e-moto riders a faster, more transparent buying experience from browsing and financing through checkout, DMV paperwork, and delivery.

"We are excited to partner with Charged Cycle Works to bring true end-to-end e-moto commerce online. Charged Cycle Works’ category leadership and customer-first approach, combined with Ekho’s ability to power vehicle purchasing from ‘browsing to bought,’ creates a strong foundation for a faster, more transparent buying experience that helps more riders purchase with confidence."
