Honda passes Harley as top motorcycle seller
Honda Motor Co. sales of motorcycle in the
U.S. grew 35% last year, helping the company pass Harley-Davidson Inc.
to again become the top-selling brand in the market. Honda sold 174,376 bikes
in the U.S. in 2000. Harley shipped 158,817 to U.S. dealers last
year. Harley grabbed the market-share lead in 1999 the first time in nearly 40
years that Honda wasn't No 1.
