EKHO Institute Student project used to teach our students about creating 3D models and rendering with AutoCAD's built-in rendering tools. Rendering shown is from an AutoCAD model created by Elton Hammond to teach effectively and quickly.
EKHO Manor garden shed was also designed and built by Elton Hammond with 3D AutoCAD. Used countless times since then as a student exercise that teaches AutoCAD 3D modeling, rendering and lighting very effectively.

Ultra quiet silent mobile diesel generator set designed entirely in 3D AutoCAD by Elton Hammond. All of the engineering design, acoustics, controls and electrical system were designed by EKH as a turn key package for the assembler who manufactured it for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is used on movie and television sets where no external noise can be tolerated on a video sound track. You too can easily learn to design this way also with EKHO's AutoCAD 3D course!
Acoustic enclosure for large stationery diesel generator set designed by Elton Hammond to isolate critical nearby research labs from the high noise level and vibrations. AutoCAD ensured all details were accurate, practical and ready for construction.
Demo project modeled and rendered with AutoCAD 2000i by Elton Hammond to verify the power of the new 3D solid editing tools added in AutoCAD 2000. A demo video was also created with 3D Studio Viz.
Rotary Uninterruptible Power Systems (RUPS) from 50 KW to 500 KW were designed by Elton Hammond for computer and communication systems that could not tolerate the slightest power interruption. The diesel was started by the flywheel's energy in about 1/3 of a second. AutoCAD played a major quality control role during design to ensure accurate fits.
Rotary Uninterruptible Power Systems (RUPS) from 50 KW to 500 KW designed by Elton Hammond for computer and communication systems that could not tolerate the slightest power interruption. The mimic bus on the front panel reflects the electrical power schematic for quick and easy operator information.
Highly structured electrical / electronic schematic drawing system was created and refined by Elton Hammond. AutoCAD was used to achieve maximum efficiency when designing the system. System was used at various manufacturers and adapted by DND. Taught on contract at CFB Chilliwack by EKH. Allows for very rapid manufacturing, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical power and controls.
Bluemaxx polystyrene building product (simliar to Argisol product used in EKHO Manor) designed by Elton Hammond in 1992 for Henk Mensen of AAB Block company that later became ARXX corporation. Henk reputedly sold $100 million dollars of this product to Japan in his first year of business!
Custom designed library desk for EKHO Manor. Key feature was a sliding drawer with a cooling fan to hide the awkward computer case that we all dislike on our desks. Second big feature was a perfect fit upon installation thanks to AutoCAD's 3D quality control.
Emerald Links Golf Course Gateposts designed by EKH with 3D AutoCAD. Design input was inspired by community input and golf course estate setting. You too can easily learn to design this way with EKHO's AutoCAD 3D course!
EKHO Manor was designed and built by Elton Hammond with AutoCAD Release 10 in 3D using Argisol's concrete/re-bar filled polystyrene blocks, making it a very unique and solidly insulated concrete structure. We rarely hear outside noises! You also can easily learn to design this way too with EKHO's AutoCAD 3D course!
Private entry gatepost designed by EKH with AutoCAD 2004 to welcome a new Emerald Links Estates neighbor. AutoCAD 2004 now allows rendering to be done in a viewport at plot time vs. previous extra work of rendering to an external file and then re-inserting. A very substantial time saver!!

EKHO Manor is a truly unique building with walls made from concrete filled Argisol polystyrene insulating blocks and re-bar that make it air-tight and sound-proof with 675,000 lbs. of concrete in the exterior walls alone. It was designed and built using 3D AutoCAD by Elton Hammond P.Eng. Will not blow away in a hurricane!!
